Office of Congresses and Seminars
This department initiated its activities in 2003 .Before this date all related activities were conducted through the "Continuous Medical Education Unit".
All national and international congresses workshops, and seminars are programmed by the "Congress and Seminar Committee", a subdivision of this office.
Examples of this office's activities are holding the Biennial International Congress of Pulmonary Diseases and critical care in collaboration with European Respiratory Society (ERS) and International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD) during the years 2003 and 2005 with the participation of 28 countries.
Major Activities: Programming for congresses, seminars and workshops on the following topics are the major concerns of this office:
A: Continuous Medical Education programs for general practitioners and specialists.
B: Seminars on tuberculosis control, tobacco and health, lung cancer, the effects of Zinc on health. HIV and tuberculosis, pediatric medicine, pain management, air pollution…..
C: Regional DOTS workshop for nurses and laboratory staff.
D: Workshops on methodology, "How to write an article" , and SPSS software.
Moreover this department actively participates in conduction of Annual Tropical and infectious disease congresses and actively participates in IUATLD and ERS international congresses which are also held annually.
