Transplantation unit of Shaheed Beheshti University:

Transplantation unit of Shaheed Beheshti University is located in Masih Daneshvari Hospital and has 2 subunits:
1- Lung transplantation unit
2- Organ procurement unit

Lung transplantation unit

This unit started its activity in the year 2000 and preparing patients for lung transplantation, evaluation of the deceased donors regarding their pulmonary health status, performing lung transplantation, and follow up of patients are of the activities performed in this unit.

Organ procurement unit

This unit was established in 2004 with the aim of finding brain death cases and making necessary arrangements for organ donation in Shaheed Beheshti University. In addition to organ procurement, this unit is active in propagating the culture of organ donation. No other procurement unit in the country is comparable with ours in terms of extent of activities.
