At the beginning of this gathering Dr. Velayati expressed his approval of presence of artists interested in cooperating with organ procurement unit of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in this gathering.Thereafter, he noted the long history of organ transplantation in Iran, starting with skin grafting and new advances in this regard which has been heart and lung transplantation during the recent years.

 

 

 Dr. Zali welcomed all artists and families and expressed his gratitude to Dr. Velayati for his presence in the ceremony.Thereafter he stated that every 2-3 months approximately 30 brain deaths are reported to the organ procurement unit of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences among which only 6 families consent to organ donation. This means much has yet to be done to inform families of the irreversible condition of their patients and the benefits of donating organs to patients in need

During this ceremony various programs were performed by the attending artists among which painting 5 pictures with the help of “Little Reza”, who was breathing with help of oxygen supplement, can be noted.
