Research activities of this unit

A) Articles presented in congresses:

1- Use of Nd:YAG laser for malignant pulmonary tumors
2- Use of Nd:YAG laser for benign pulmonary tumors
3- Role of Intra-bronchial chemotherapy in treatment of malignant pulmonary tumors
The above mentioned articles were presented in Saudi Arabia and Syrian congresses.
Two articles entitled" Use of Nd:YAG laser for malignant pulmonary tumors" and " Role of Intra-bronchial chemotherapy in treatment of malignant pulmonary tumors" were accepted as poster presentation for CHEST 2007 World Congress- Chicago/ USA.

B) Articles  published by Medical journals:

1- Clinical review and treatment of patients with adeno cystic carcinoma of airways
2- The role of laser therapy in patients wit Tracheopathia-Osteochondroplastica h 
3- A study of one case with idiopathic tracheal stenosis: A case report
4- A three year report of endo-bronchial chemotherapy of malignant pulmonary lesions

A summary of all activities of bronchoscopy and laser unit was presented in "Education Festival 2007" as poster presentation and pamphlet. Also a report of our activities was published by newsletter of Shahid Beheshti University.

Research projects of this unit:

1- Study of effect of low power laser in patients with asthma
2- Study of effect of topical Mitomycin-C in treatment of granulation tissue lesions of airways
3- Study of effect of Argon plasma on airway lesions
4- A comparison between effects of Lidocaine spray and nebulizer on symptom reduction during fiberoptic bronchoscopy
