Educational Introduction

National research institute of tuberculosis and lung disease, which is located in the Masih Daneshvari medical center was established and initiated its activity in 1992. In 1998, the research institute and the hospital were combined with each other and renamed as "Dr. Masih Daneshvari educational, therapeutic and research center for tuberculosis and lung disease". Today it is the educational collaboration center of the WHO eastern Mediterranean region, the Middle East office of the international union against tuberculosis and lung disease (IUATLD) and the reference center for TB educational and research programs in the country.
